About the West Oak Team

Trevor Cox

Trevor was born with a chisel in his hand and is passionate about the joinery trade. He trained at Tottenham Technical College, gaining a Higher National Certificate Joinery and Construction. In 1979 he received the National Silver Medal as Student of the Year and the Marshall Andrews Cup for outstanding achievement.

After serving a three-year apprenticeship, he decided to work on a self-employed basis, undertaking a diversified range of work for the British Museum, Harrods, the Swiss Embassy, the Hudson bay Company, and Unilever Blackfriars among many others. He also spent some time working in Italy, principally making high quality furniture.

Trevor is fully qualified in carpentry and joinery and proficient in AutoCad 2009. He was also Chairman of the Joinery Manager’s Association in 1995.

Gill Cox

Gill is the driving force behind the scenes, looking after the accounts, payroll, and personnel areas of the Company.

For 12 years she worked for one of the largest retail companies in the U.K. and gained experience from several areas including training and marketing.

Gill is proficient in Sage Accounts and Sage Payroll. She has instigated and maintained the BS ISO 9002 Quality System and has introduced many other initiatives within the joinery factory. Gill is also a qualified first aider.

The staff

The staff at West Oak Joinery Ltd. have been selected to complement a range of skills that are needed from the initial design concept to the finished product. They have over 300 years of experience between them and they are trained quality craftsmen.

The range of services include: Auto Computer Aided Design 2009, estimating, machining, bench joining, finishing and delivery. Each area is equally important and the staff work closely together in order to achieve the best results. They are aware of the Company’s commitment to quality and take pride in their work. They are also encouraged to find ways to improve the Company, and West Oak Joinery Ltd. is proud of their talented staff, the majority of whom have been employed long term.
